Coretura, a company founded by Daimler Truck and Volvo Group, selected their jointly developed Alloy Kore platform as a foundation for its next generation vehicle software. The announcement arrives just before BlackBerry reports fiscal second-quarter results on September 24, giving investors both a new growth story and a near-term test of the numbers behind it.<\/p>\n<p>Alloy Kore combines a safety-certified operating system with other software that helps a vehicle&#8217;s computers work together. Coretura plans to use it as part of a common software platform for commercial vehicles. For BlackBerry, the attraction is the possibility that QNX becomes a deeper part of future vehicle designs as manufacturers put more computing power into trucks. Coretura&#8217;s selection shows that the technology has won a customer, but the announcement does not disclose a contract value or a schedule for revenue. Investors should therefore treat the potential financial benefit as an opportunity rather than an established earnings contribution.<\/p>\n<p>The operating business has already shown improvement. In BlackBerry&#8217;s fiscal first quarter, which ended May 31, 2026, total revenue rose 26% year over year to US$152.9 million. QNX revenue also rose 26%, reaching US$72.3 million, while the Secure Communications division generated US$73.6 million, up 24%. The company reported its fifth consecutive quarter of positive net income under generally accepted accounting principles. These results provide a stronger fundamental basis for the QNX story than a design win alone.<\/p>\n<p>The next earnings report will show whether that momentum is continuing. BlackBerry previously guided to US$137 million to US$148 million in total fiscal second-quarter revenue, including US$70 million to US$75 million from QNX.
